Coldplay star to chop down trees
PLANNING chiefs have allowed Coldplay guitarist Jonny Buckland permission to knock down two trees at his new Hampstead home – despite protests from conservationists.
A pear tree and a mimosa will go as part of the musician’s plans to build an extension. The Netherhall Conservation Area advisory committee had warned that the loss of the trees was unacceptable.
Mr Buckland is widely credited for the powerhouse guitar riffs behind the band, who have had worldwide success with three chart-topping albums.
He shares his home with his girlfriend Chloe Lee-Evans, whose name appears on planning papers submitted to the Town Hall and displayed for public inspection on Camden Council’s website.
