Salma’s dad is being kept ‘in the dark’
THE father of 12-year-old Salma ElSharkawy, who was killed in a car crash while in the care of Camden social services, says he is being kept in the dark over the council’s investigations.
Walid ElSharkawy says Camden Council is refusing to keep him updated on the progress of inquiries into how his daughter died after being sent to a children’s home in Derbyshire earlier this year. His claims are disputed by the council.
Five inquiries into the death of Haverstock schoolgirl Salma are pending.
Mr ElSharkawy said: “I object to Camden appointing the reviewer because he won’t be independent.”
