Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published: 13 September 2007
Alternative route, please
• I WOULD like to add my voice to the debate on the 393 bus route. We all seem to agree that this extension is a positive move, it is just the route which is causing disagreement. On our estate we have suggested an alternative route, along Agar Grove and Royal College Street into Kentish Town. This route follows roads which already have bus stops and are used to buses travelling down them. From Agar Grove, we currently have no direct access to either Kentish Town or Chalk Farm, both of which are a fairly long walk, especially with children. This optional route gives our children better access to Haverstock School and the Roundhouse, while providing us more shopping choice. Our suggestion would pass Camden Road overland and still stop only 100 yards from Kentish Town Tube station. It would give good access to the local primary schools as well. Many Leighton Road residents, as well as those in Castle Road and the adjacent Clarence Way estate, do not want a bus running down their road, whereas we would love to be better connected to those areas which the route covers.
