Belsize book worms go wild for reading
YOUNGSTERS who ‘went wild’ for reading this summer were awarded certificates and medals this week.
Some of the 40 children who took part in a reading programme this summer called the Big Wild Read attended a party at Belsize Library, in Antrim Road, on Tuesday.
Camden author Joanna Skipwith, who recently published books about tigers and rhinos – animal conservation was part of the summer programme’s theme – gave out prizes. She said: “It’s a real cliché but kids are the future. As adults, we’re now finding we’ve made a real mess of the planet – let’s hope this generation are wiser than we were.
