Golden girls Husnaria Khanom, Lucy Nicholas and Daisy Mann-Peet are smiles better than the rest after being named as the Sports Women of the Year.
Top awards for triumphant trio
TRIUMPHANT trio Daisy Mann-Peet, Husnaria Khanom and Lucy Nicholas were rewarded for their sporting efforts on Monday when they were crowned Camden School for Girls’ Sports Women of the Year. Over the last 12 months the three girls, all aged 15, have won countless trophies for the school, and represented the borough in a series of top events, including the London Youth Games. The girls have shown off their skills in a series of different sports including athletics, basketball, fencing, football and indoor rowing.
There were also celebrations for fab four Rochelle Vidal, Shahehna Begum, Zoe McGee and Ashley Herbert-McLeod, who were rewarded for their outstanding leadership skills for the school, which is based in Sandall Road, Camden Town.
The girls were presented with the Outstanding Junior Sports Leaders Award for their efforts over the last six months while undertaking the Level One Sports Leaders award. Among their tasks, the girls had to lead primary school pupils in various sporting events, run inter-form competitions and organise the school’s annual sports day.
