Fresh appeal for murder witnesses
DETECTIVES have reissued an appeal for information about the murder of Daniel Ross on the anniversary of his death.
Mr Ross, 22, was shot in the head at point blank range in the Scala in King’s Cross on September 24 last year.
Father-of-two Mr Ross, from Kilburn, died at the University College London Hospital at around 5.30pm later that day.
Although police have released CCTV images of clubbers they want to speak to, and broadcast a national appeal on Crimewatch recently, the investigation has struggled.
Four men arrested at the time of the killing were later released.
Detectives believe eye-witnesses to the murder – who may include friends Mr Ross was with on the night – are frightened to come forwards.
DI Peter Holdcroft, from Operation Trident, reiterrated his assurances this week that witnesses could be offered anonymity.
Mr Ross’s mother Jean Ross plans to attend the premiere of Hip Hop Opera, a film that explores how gun crime can escalate, due to be screened at a West End cinema next month.
