Bendy is good
• Bendy buses have played a key role in the success of London’s public transport since 2000 (Driving us round the bend, September 7).
Bendy buses, with their three doors and off-bus ticketing, reduce the time needed for passengers to safely get on and off along these routes.
The articulated buses can also carry more passengers than double-deckers. As a result, passengers have the chance to catch the first bus that comes along during peak hours.
Without bendies, people would be left behind on the street. How does Christian Wolmar suggest we move these people around London?
