Hard work guaranteed success of family event
• I AM delighted you chose to report last week the fantastic family event held at the new 3 Point Park in Highgate Newtown (It’s celebration time as new £130k park opens, page 3).
I was there and it was great to see how effectively this small area has been transformed for children, especially the delightful mosaic-embedded concrete snakes.
However I must point out that the success of the park is down to the hard work and determination of the local community and organisations, particularly the 3 Point Park Steering Group. Camden Council’s community development officers supported the project and helped bring people together but it was residents that applied for funding, worked with designers and builders to develop the park and made sure it met the needs of the local community.
Thanks to their commitment they secured funding from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, Groundwork and Camden Council.
Congratulations to them.
