Four arrested after shooting
FOUR men have been arrested after a young father of two was gunned down in a King’s Cross nightclub 11 days ago.
The arrests came within four days of the fatal shooting of Daniel Ross, 22, at the Scala nightclub in Pentonville Road.
Mr Ross, whose family lived in Kilburn, was shot once in the head at point blank range.
He died in University College Hospital after failing to respond to tests to his brain.
On Thursday a 17-year-old was arrested in connection with police enquiries and two men, 25 and 26, were arrested on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender a day earlier.
Last Tuesday a 34-year-old man was arrested, also on suspicion of murder.
All four have been bailed until the end of the month.
Detective Chief Inspector Fiona Mallon, of Operation Trident, which investigates black-on-black killings, said police still wanted to talk to others in connection with the killing.
Police have struggled to find witnesses, despite up to 1,000 revellers being present at the garage music night.
DCI Mallon said she “could not believe” the poor response and urged more people to come forward. “Even if people were in a different floor of the club at the time we have to talk to them.”
The Scala has refused to comment. |
