Murder arrest
DETECTIVES hunting the killer of Hampstead recluse Allan Chappelow arrested a man in Switzerland the day the 86-year-old’s body was laid to rest.
Swiss police swooped on Friday to arrest a 45-year-old man. Now police are preparing extradition papers to bring the suspect back to Britain, where he is facing a murder charge. Mr Chappelow died of head injuries.
The detective in charge of the case, Chief Inspector Peter Lansdown was at the funeral when he heard the news.
