Three festivals celebrated at multi-faith service
A RABBI, a priest and an imam led a shared celebration of faith on Thursday at St Martin’s Gardens, Camden Town.
Rabbi Kathleen deMagtige Middleton, Imam Ali Ahmed and Father Nicholas Wheeler led worship and sang religious songs to mark the current Muslim and Jewish festivals of Ramadan and Yom Kippur, and the Christian celebration of St Michael’s Day.
Children from St Michael’s primary, Richard Cobden primary and the Ampthill Square Muslim Mothertongue schools joined a procession of light, holding lanterns they had made.
The evening was organised as part of the Camden Multi Faith Project.
Father Nicholas said: “Jews, Christians and Muslims have far more in common than we ever allow ourselves to realise.” |
