Fourth win for Division Three league leaders after comeback scare

THE action continued to hot up as teams returned to league action this weekend following an action-packed opening round in our Camden New Journal Challenge Cup.

Division one
Reddot 2, Globetown 0

CHAMPIONS Reddot continued the quest for their third consecutive title with a titanic win over title challengers Globetown.

Despite both teams looking to take an early advantage, the score remained goalless at half time.
The deadlock was finally broken on the hour mark when Steven Bruce finished off a good team move to give Reddot the lead with his fourth goal of the season.
With the match hanging in the balance, Globetown pushed for the all-important equaliser. But any chance they had of salvaging something from the game were dashed when top scorer Tony Dowsett produced a cute finish from the edge of the area to seal what could prove a vital win for Reddot come the end of the season.
Reddot are already well positioned at the top of the table having won all four of their opening games, scoring 19 goals and conceding just four in the process.

Surreal Madrid 8, Victory 1

HAT-TRICK hero John Keohane led the charge as Surreal Madrid came from a goal down to beat Victory.
Despite falling behind early on, Keohane’s timely treble saw Madrid bounce back to record the biggest win of the day. Madrid turned on the style as they made the most of their possession in front of goal. Eanne Kavanagh and Paul Russell both scored two goals apiece, while Bjorn Lawton completed the rout.
From their opening three games, Madrid have now tasted a little of everything, having won one, drew one and lost one.

Division two
Tergemo 4, FC Bertoli 1

MAN of the match Seagun Oladapo was in sensational form on Sunday as Tergemo made it two wins out of two with a convincing victory over bottom placed FC Bertoli.
The talented striker, nicknamed ‘The Gun’ scored twice in the opening half as Tergemo took a commanding lead in at the break. Bertoli pulled a goal back early in the second half, but two assists from Oladapo led to Felix Ngonadi and Charlie Meyer both finding the back of the net in a decisive final 10 minutes.

Division three
North Side FC 4, DL 1

STRIKER Jamie Charles scored twice as league leaders North Side came from a goal behind to beat DL.
It looked like there could be a shock on the cards as bottom placed DL held on to a surprise lead for the best part of an hour.
North Side finally levelled courtesy of a well-taken strike from Chris O’Brien before Charles netted his brace to all but clinch the match.
Centre-back Keito Caffoor rounded off the scoring in the final seconds of the match as North Side made it four wins out of four.
