Robbers threat to kill pet dog
CRUEL muggers forced a woman to hand over thousands of pounds worth of jewellery with high sentimental value after threatening to slit her dog’s throat.
The two teenage robbers struck as she was walking her pet in Kilburn Grange Park last Wednesday afternoon.
Her nightmare began when the dog ran into an alcove and was picked up by a youth, who was about 18, with a gold front tooth, dark clothing and muscular build.
The woman, 48, asked for her dog back but instead, the youth pulled out a Stanley knife and demanded her jewellery, which included designer and antique pieces.
She was forced to hand it all over after he threatened to kill her dog and pressed the blade into the back of her hand.
The mugger put the jewellery in his pocket and left with his accomplice by hopping over a wall into Kingsgate Place.
The stolen jewellery includes a 1930s Cartier watch with a gold face, gold earrings, five gold rings, six gold bangles, a silver Tiffany necklace and a silver Tiffany bracelet.
Detective Constable Pamela Lawton of Camden robbery squad said: “The victim is extremely distraught, frightened and shaken up as a result of this incident. I am appealing for any members of the public who were in the surrounding area at the time, anyone with any information about the suspects or if they have seen the items of jewellery to please come forward.”
