MEMBERS from Camden Fencing Club were in action over the weekend as they represented Great Britain in the Kenten International Sabre Championships, held in Germany, writes Steve Barnett.
A team of seven fencers from the club, which is based at Acland Burghley School in Tufnell Park, made their way to Cologne to take part in what is considered one of the strongest competitions in Europe.
Camden's Waldo Ramsay captured a bronze medal after losing 10-9 in a thrilling semi-final showdown in the boys' under-13s event.
Competing in the same age category, Nicholas Sabharwal finished in 16th place.
In the boys under-14s category Soji Aiyenuro walked away with another bronze as he lost 10-7 to eventual winner Maximillian Kindler of Germany.
Jack Horrix fenced outstandingly to clinch a bronze medal in the under-12 category. In the girls under-14s, Parliament Hill School pupil Eucalypta Bradley also finished third as she was beaten by Germany's Anja Musch 10-7.
