Swimmers from Anaconda celebrate series of record bests |
Anaconda stars make waves with top times
SWIMMERS from Anaconda set a series of new club records on Saturday as they turned out in force for their second Speedo League gala of the season at Ipswich Crown Pool.
Competing against some of the top talents from across the capital, Andrew Boadi sealed an outstanding first place finish in the under-12s 50m butterfly. The spirited youngster also set a new club record in the 50m-freestyle with a time of 34.95secs.
In the 100m butterfly, Wayne Lock took second place with a powerful swim, before going on to set a new individual record of 56.29secs in the open 100m freestyle.
Dominic McLoughlin set a new club record of 32.89secs in the under-12s freestyle relay.
The under-16 boys’ team of Hayden Thomas, Leo Kirby, Josh Wright and Callum McDougall set a new club record when they came third in the 4x50m freestyle relay.
Meanwhile the under-16s girls’ freestyle relay team of Abigail McNeill, Julia Taylor, Katie Medhurst and Daniella Hole also set a new club record.
