Gang victim suffers punctured lung in stabbing
A TEENAGER suffered a punctured lung when he was stabbed twice by a gang of up to 15 youths in Camden Town.
The attack took place on Friday night, but almost a week later police are still unsure where it happened and there have been no arrests. It is thought the 15-year-old victim and his friends were accosted by a gang wearing hoodies somewhere between Harrington Square Gardens and Delancey Street.
He was punched to the ground, kicked on the head and stabbed in the back while a second boy, aged 14, was hit around the head with a hammer. Police say a passing motorist stopped and gave the teenager a lift further down the road away from the gang.
About 9pm, staff and customers at The Crown and Goose pub in Arlington Road watched as three police cars and an ambulance pulled up to tend to the bleeding boy. Landlord Spencer Tregea said: “I could see the guy with silver foil wrapped round him to keep him warm.”
The youth received stitches for stab wounds, one of which punctured his lung, and was released from hospital on Monday.
A police spokesman said officers were still trying to establish where the stabbing happened. |
