Rock to stop the violence
A NIGHTCLUB at the centre of a murder investigation in King’s Cross is introducing rock music to its Saturday nights in a bid to stamp out gang crime.
The change in music policy at the Scala in Pentonville Road follows the fatal shooting of Daniel Ross, 22 in September at a night called Garage Fever.
All four men arrested in connection with the shooting so far have been released without charge.
According to Camden police’s head of licensing, management had intended to ditch garage, a particular form of dance music increasingly linked with gun culture, since before the tragic killing.
The new rock and Indie nights are likely to begin next month.
The Scala’s management have remained tight-lipped about their plans.
Sergeant Bob Dear said a particular Tottenham gang, known as Northstar, involved in robberies and other crimes inside the club – but not linked with the shooting – have not been seen at the Scala since security was stepped up. |
