Wilson nets support
ARSENAL Ladies have joined forces with legendary Gunners’ goalkeeper Bob Wilson after nominating the Willow Foundation as their charity of the season.
Still celebrating after becoming the first English side to reach the final of the Women’s UEFA Cup, the Gunners will be organising a host of joint initiatives to raise valuable funds for the charity and increase awareness of the foundation among Arsenal supporters.
The Willow Foundation was set up by Bob and his wife Megs just over eight years ago following the loss of their daughter Anna to cancer. Also supported by the Arsenal first team, the charity is dedicated to improving the quality of life for seriously ill 16 to 40-year-olds through the provision of special days.
Ladies captain Faye White said: “We are delighted to show our support for the Willow Foundation. The young people that Willow helps are often the same age as the ladies on the team and many of our supporters – an age when they should be living life to the full.” |
