Simply having a wonderful hamper time
A JOLLY Father Christmas set off on Monday to deliver the New Journal’s annual batch of hampers.
The hamper appeal – now 27 years old – brightens up what can be a dark few days for hard-up single parents lonely elderly people.
It’s all made possible by the generosity of our readers. Nobody proves this better than Peter Johnston, who first raised cash for the appeal six years ago. The caretaker of Buck Street market in Camden Town for 30 years, he collects coppers all year round by selling off unsold goods and shaking tins. |
