Arsenal on track
Women’s Football Round-Up
ARSENAL need just one point to get back on terms as the National Division’s Premiership title race enters 2007.
The signs are good as the Champions sit third with two games in hand and an unbeaten league record that stretches back to 2003.
The Gunners will look to maintain their winning form going into January and will look back on 2006 as an historic year in which they became the first English team to make the finals of the UEFA Cup.
A League Cup final date has also been secured but league and FA Cup action will preoccupy manager Vic Akers’ thoughts over the next couple of months as he chases silverware on four fronts.
Stockport County away in the FA Cup is first up for Arsenal on January 7 when the women’s football season kicks off again.
Also running out on that date will be a young and developing Spurs side who have made a disappointing start to the London and South East Premier Division. Spurs sit eighth of the 11 teams and will need to pick up points when they travel to Woking. |
