Shimi Goodman, Tim McArthur, Benjamin Lake and Rebecca Thornhill are set to perform at Lauderdale House
House call for stars of the west end
HOME visits from big-name actors and actresses may still be the stuff of fantasy, but a Highgate house is offering the next best thing. Stars of the West End stage are flocking to Lauderdale House on Highgate Hill this autumn to perform a series of personal cabaret gigs in the stately home’s intimate confines.
From next week, the 100-seat capacity venue plays host to “Mr
Phantom of the Opera” Benjamin Lake, Rebecca Thornhill (currently playing Winifred Banks in Mary Poppins), Chicago’s Amra-Faye Wright and Shimi Goodman from Dirty Dancing.
Mr Goodman said: “Cabaret gives you the opportunity to create your own show, to do what interests you. “You get to know the person as an individual instead of the person on the stage.”
• Cabaret in the House kicks off on Sunday October 21 with Amra-Faye Wright supported by Nick Pegden. Tickets £13/11.
