‘I want to be extradited’ – murder suspect
A WOMAN doctor accused of murdering her boyfriend asked a judge on Monday for help in eventually getting back to her family roots.
“When I’m able to I’d like to be extradited to my own country – Ireland,” said well-spoken, raven haired Tara Eileen Keohan, 30, from the dock at the Old Bailey.
Judge Jeremy Roberts, QC, told her: “That’s a bit of a way down the track.”
Making her first appearance at the court Keohan, of Willesden Lane, Kilburn, originally from Sligo, was remanded back into custody for a fuller hearing on January 2.
She is charged with the murder of 50-year-old former classical musician Donald Fletcher. He was found dead in his room at a hostel in Mary Terrace, Camden Town, last month.
Prosecutor Michael Mulkerrins told the court that crucial CCTV footage was being examined and further evidence gathered.
Judge Roberts told Miss Keohan: “Hopefully we’ll have a lot more information by your next court appearance and be able to set out a timetable for this case.”
