Praise where praise is due for this excellent work
• I AM amazed that Pam Gilby writes that Cllr Chris Philp has not been active in Gospel Oak Ward (A case of the councillor quoting Gilby, October 4). His record of local service in the 18 months since he and his two Conservative colleagues won the ward has been exemplary.
I am one of the first to say that “they are all the same and just out for themselves” but in truth this cannot be said of Chris and his Gospel Oak colleagues.
It was Chris who was instrumental in having Downside Crescent, Lawn and Fleet Roads resurfaced and that alone has helped all of us living in this area.
I suffered a leaking roof about which previous councillors had done nothing.
Thanks to Chris Philp and Lulu Mitchell it was fixed speedily.
Praise where praise is due.
His work, with our other councillors,in restoring heating to Kiln Place needs no further mention.
I could continue at length.
I have never known such excellent and hard working councillors as those for Gospel Oak and I say that hand on heart. THE Right Rev Anthony Earl-Williams
