• AFTER last year’s saga of repairs to West Hampstead railway bridge and the eternal traffic jams of that time, a big hole appeared on the expertly-repaired bridge. Result, endless traffic diversions causing endless bus journeys. Is there no competent writer to craft a novel about life in north west London? It would even make a gripping film oo. WP JASPERT, W9
