Service cuts are hitting elderly
• MORE cuts in essential services hit many people in the borough, most particularly the elderly. They now have to pay for carers/cleaners. Many people will have to do without help. To make a bed or vacuum clean the carpet can be a real ordeal for a frail person. For some it’s impossible to get in and out of the bath tub without help. What are they going to do? Stop washing themselves and cleaning their homes? Do you want them to live like animals? On which planet do Camden bosses live? How many more cuts?
The voluntary sector is also targeted. The borough telephone befriending service – whose volunteers turn despair into hope – is under threat.
Camden bosses are not even ashamed; they brag about their cuts and expect a bonus. The elderly in Camden have been abandoned. name and address supplied
