Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Published: 1 November 2007
Class and education • IN the letter (All have the right to a first-class education, October 25) it’s outrageous for P Wagland to classify “working class” as mediocrity and grossly dishonest to misquote me as having written that. I have never insulted the working class and certainly recognise that many jobs regarded as working class require high levels of intelligence, training and skill. Has P Wagland never watched a large articulated van being reversed into a loading bay?
Of course every child should have first-class education but we are a long way from that utopian dream. However at Camden ITEC and Camden Jobtrain we give people a second chance. HUNTLY SPENCE
