Revealed: Blake’s big draw
NOW you see it, now you don’t. This is the moment the surviving Stanley Building in King’s Cross disappeared under a cloak sketched by illustrator Quentin Blake.
The giant wrap – plans for which were first revealed in the New Journal last month – went up on Tuesday.
Mr Blake came up with the drawings to brighten up the area for passengers coming off trains.
He said: “It’s a wonderful opportunity to be able to work on this exciting project, and see my drawings reproduced on such a huge scale. “We hope it will give travellers a cheerful welcome to London as they arrive at St Pancras International.”
