Care put on the line
• PLEASE help to save our Careline.
Part of the work of Careline (Camden’s home alarm service for the vulnerable) is being given out to contractors whose offices may be anywhere in England. This means that when we press our red button these new people will answer our call. They will then contact the Careline who will come to our aid.
We object to this proposed arrangement for two reasons.
First, the council is passing on the names and addresses of older people to strangers.
Secondly, we don’t see how including new contractors in the delivery of the service and adding yet another tier of administration can give a better or even cheaper service. NAME and address SUPPLIED,
WC1
