Cyclist’s truck death ‘accidental’
A CORONER has ruled the horrific death of a cyclist who was crushed under a truck was an accident.
St Pancras Coroner’s Court heard on Monday how researcher Amelia Zollner, 24, died after a truck driver failed to see her at a set of traffic lights in Russell Square, Bloomsbury, in March.
Ms Zollner was cycling from her home to the offices of the independent policy think tank, Institute for Public Policy Research in Covent Garden, where she worked.
Witnesses told how they saw the Cambridge graduate who lived in Stock Orchard Crescent, Holloway, pushed against a fence by the truck as the traffic lights changed from red to green.
