Dots close in on the leaders
Camden Sunday League
REDDOT moved to within two points of top spot in Division One of the Camden Sunday League at the weekend with a convincing win over bottom-placed side Os Lusos at Hackney Marshes.
OS Lusos drew first blood with a fine goal by Ruben Martins, but the Dots quickly hit back to level the scores when Jason Medford broke clear of the defence to slot home.
OS Lusos restored their advantage when Reddot captain Micky Dowsett carelessly headed a back pass straight to Vando Furtado, who slotted home from close range.
The goal sparked Reddot into life, with Paul Reid going on to score four goals and strike partner Steven Bruce grabbing a brace to seal an impressive 7-3 victory. Martins scored a third for Os Lusos.
Title rivals Phoenix are a point behind Reddot in the table following their 3-1 win over Archway Allstars. Dean Syer, Paul Butler and Mark Doyle were all on target as Phoenix sealed their third win of the season.
Meanwhile Cobden Athletic will face Phoenix in the quarter-finals of our Camden Sunday League Challenge Cup after they sealed a thrilling 6-3 victory over Hornsey.
Hat-trick hero Pat Jones proved the difference between the two sides as he netted a timely treble, while Robert Saint, Kaleb King and Chris Knott were also all on target for Cobden.
