Winter warm-up as santa drops in early at school to give a festive surprise to youngsters
SANTA Claus stocked up on mince pies for his reindeers and made the treacherous journey from Lapland to bring some early Christmas cheer to Hampstead Hill School on Saturday.
Wide-eyed children quaked with excitement as they waited in line to pay the white-bearded sage and his diminutive elves a visit in his log-filled grotto.
Nobody was spared Santa’s stern examination, but the rap list was short and everyone departed with a stocking filler and dreams of waking up on Christmas Day to unwrap the latest computer console or this year’s must-have toy.
And there was plenty on offer for adults at the Christmas bazaar, including a special appearance from TV’s Gail Porter, a silent sports memorabilia auction and a veritable feast of home-made treats to warm the cockles of the hearts of even the most weather-beaten guests.
Even the local bobbies took some time out from their beat to join in the festive fun.
All the money raised on the day went to charities Marie Curie Cancer Care and the
St Stephen’s Trust.
