• PERHAPS your correspondent, Mr Walton, (Fish in Heath ponds live to fight another day, November 15) sees the author of The Compleat Angler, Izaac Walton, as his role model?
One could almost pity defenders of the indefensible. It must be a very distressing state of mind. So the anglers are “pursuing a peaceful sport”. I’ll bet the fish don’t see it that way with a sharp hook in their mouth.
