Fears snatched puppy could be used for fighting

A DOG owner whose puppy was snatched as she walked it near her home fears it may be used to fight other animals.
Anna Moore, 25, who lives with her mother on St Pancras Way estate, was walking her three dogs Rex, Benny and 14-week-old Staffordshire terrier, Remy, on the evening of November 15 when a group of boys approached.
Ms Moore said: “They were just doing their thing, you know how dogs do.
“I saw a couple of boys walking on the grass near Remy. They were calling her over. I noticed that she started wagging her tail. The next thing I knew the boys had disappeared around the corner.”
Dog fights became a regular occurence on the estate over the summer and Ms Moore believes Remy could be used for entertainment by youths in the area.
She has received threatening phone calls since she posted “missing” notices around the neighbourhood, along with her contact details.
One caller demanded a £1,000 ransom for the return of the blue-eyed pup.
Ms Moore said: “I really haven’t got that much money, but if she’s returned to me safely I will offer the person a reward.
“My friend’s dog Bubble is her best friend. He’s been really sad since she went missing.
“She has an amazing personality.
“She can be really scatty sometimes and loves biting things.
“Other times she rests her head on your shoulder for like half an hour. The next minute she’s running around throwing things in the air.”
Remy was also on a course of antibiotics and Ms Moore is worried that without medication the puppy could become very sick.
She added: “They’re young boys and don’t have any emotions, but I’d like them to know I miss her.”
If anyone has any information on Remy they are urged to contact Justine Marlow at Alfie’s Lost Dogs, an organisation which offers support to owners who have lost their pets. Call on 01795 535660 or 07776 331431.
