Magpies steal Gunners’ points

Adebayor’s stunning volley is not enough for Wenger’s men on Tyneside

ARSENAL stretched their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 21 games last night (Wednesday) with a hard-fought draw, away against Newcastle.
The Gunners took the lead within minutes of the kick-off when Emmanuel Adebayor unleashed a stunning volley after beautifully trapping Emmanuel Eboue’s deep cross on his chest.
But the visitors failed to build on their early goal and Newcastle quickly started to get a stranglehold on the game.
Producing arguably one of their best performances of the season so far, the Magpies earned a deserved share of the spoils when Steven Taylor equalised just before the hour mark.
The draw continues Arsenal’s sensational start to the season, but Arsene Wenger is refusing to get carried away.
The Arsenal manager has guided his team to their best start since the Premier League began but any talk of lifting the title come May is quickly being dismissed by the Frenchman.
“Maybe dreamers they think about the title. But we are realistic people and we know that there is still a long way to go.” Wenger told the club’s official website, Arsenal.com.
“The Premier League title is fantastic because it is down to consistency and you get that if you are capable of getting your resources together for every single game. That is why we are not dreamers and are realistic people.
“I believe first of all I am lucky to have a young side, and an intelligent side and that helps them to understand that, in football, things can change quickly,” he said.
