Hampstead top the tree over holiday
TABLE toppers Hampstead will start the New Year five points clear in the Under-9s North League after goals from James McWilliams and Ben Thompson sealed a 2-0 victory over Harbour. Elsewhere striker Jason Rice continued his goal a game ratio but couldn’t stop Isledon Wolves from slipping to a 2-1 defeat against Regent’s Park.
Wolves enjoyed better fortunes in the Under-10s ‘A’ League thanks to the goalkeeping heroics of Sam Barlow. The talented shot-stopper pulled off a string of saves to earn Isledon a 2-1 win over FDS. Alfie Costello showed great composure to fire Wolves ahead, but FDS hit back to equalise before the break. Isledon snatched the points late on when Costello scored his second of the game.
Hampstead are three points clear at the top of the Under-10s table after a single strike from Ryan Kochberg sealed a 1-0 victory over ‘A’ Class.
Chapel stretched their lead at the top of the Under-11s ‘B’ League to three points with victory over AC Juniors. JJ Rowe and Malik Smith both scored two goals apiece, while Yusuf Ali was also on target as Chapel ran out 5-1 winners.
Chapel are also joint top in the Under-12s ‘B’ League despite being held to a 4-4 draw against Finsbury Park. Charlie Lefever-Jones struck twice, while O’Neal Rowe and Jake Crook also found the back of the net.
In the Under-14s League, CJ Burke bagged a brace to lead Hampstead to their third win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Harbour.
