Feeling sick about the right to strike?
• POLICE officers in England who are demanding the right to strike show the stolid lack of imagination of their chosen profession. Any competent Police Federation official could drive a coach and horses through the relevant legislation by declaring: “Our employer’s attitude has made me so ill that I’m not going to be able to go to work on Monday and will be phoning in sick. I would quite understand if any of our members felt similarly indisposed.” Name and address supplied
