Is an eco-warrior role what we really need?
• ALEXIS Rowell (Seeking a Solution over School for Deaf Children, December 27) states that he “went into ... politics because I wanted to do something about climate change” and proceeds (unnecessarily) to state his view upon the same.
He then continues, with an arrogance that can only be described as breathtaking: “Climate change doesn’t leave me much time to go into the detail of all local issues.”
I suggest that the average Camden constituent is rather more concerned with clean streets, access to GPs, and the borough’s crime rate than the councillor’s views on climate change.
If Cllr Rowell wants to be an eco-warrior he should do it in his own time, using his own funds, and not at the expense of serving his constituents properly – which is what he was elected to do.
