Blitz beef up to defend Britbowl title
BRITISH National Champions of American football the London Blitz have set their sights on strengthening their squad as they prepare to take up the challenge of defending their crown.
The Premier League club were in unstoppable form throughout their last campaign, winning BritBowl XXI to clinch their first-ever national title.
With the new season just months away the triumphant team, who play their home games at the athletics track in Finsbury Park, are looking to bring in new recruits to help them build on the most successful season in the club’s history.
Chairman Robin Pierce said: “We’re only too aware that becoming National Champions, and being undefeated last season, means every team will want to beat us this year. “We’ve got used to being written-off in the past, so this season presents a whole new set of challenges. We’re up to the task, and with the additional players and coaches we’ve gained this year, we’ll be stronger than ever.”
The British American Football League is due to get under way in either April or May. Anyone interested in sponsoring or playing for the club should visit www.londonblitz.com/ for more info.
