Spurs double trouble

• SHAME on Dan Carrier for his parochialism in writing, in his review of Harry Harris’s biography of Martin Jol (White heart in the right place, January 10), that Spurs were the first team to do the FA Cup and League double! Looking at Spurs’ own website would have shown him Preston North End and Aston Villa did the double in 1889 and 1897 respectively. Then, of course, Spurs were a non-league side...
