Close games on cup trail

TEAMS took a break from title action in the Chalk Farm Pool League on Monday to set their sights on the second round of the Liam Tarrant Knockout Cup.
In a series of closely fought matches, the biggest winners were Whittington Stone who became the only Second Division side left in the competition after they beat Regent’s Park 5-0. Elsewhere Boston Arms edged club mates Boston Rimmers 5-4, while Swiss Guard and Unicorn also progressed after 5-4 wins in their respective games against Grafton Hustlers and the Gloucester Arms ‘A’ team.
The Sir Robert Peel ‘A’ team beat Peckwater 5-2, a result mirrored by the Swiss Scientists in their game against Sir Robert Peek ‘B’.
The remaining results saw the Cricklewood Hotel ‘A’ team overcome Angies 5-2, while Boston Boys beat Green Man 5-1.
