The cast of Sinbad and the Golden Chalice
Free’s Sinbad is a serious business
DOCTORS swapped their scalpels and scrubs for cutlasses and lamé pantaloons for the triumphant return of the Royal Free panto.
Staff from the hospital in Pond Street revived the annual pantomime after a four-year hiatus with the story of Sinbad and the Golden Chalice at the weekend.
The pantomime was a serious business – since September the doctors, nurses and managers involved rehearsed more than 50 times for the four-show run.
Nicola Agombar, an operations manager who played a bossy princess in the show, said: “It was a big commitment and it was hard to get everyone there at the same time but everyone wants to keep it going so there might be another, once we’ve got over this one.”
