No grace in defeat
• RICHARD Osley is as graceless in defeat (Calm down Spurs, it was only the reserves, January 24) as is his team’s manager, Arsene Wenger.
And as blind. (We’ll overlook, for now, the unseemly, yet hugely enjoyable, sight of Arsenal footballers fighting each other.)
In his bitter account of the glorious events of last Tuesday, he asserts no less than three times that it was an Arsenal reserve side who turned out to play.
Perhaps this was in an attempt to persuade himself that it was true. Because I seem to recall Fabregas usually starting out in the first team. And Hleb. And Adebayor. And Gallas. And even Eduardo. So not quite the reserves then who got a thrashing at the hands of the Lilywhites then, Richard.
