Joint-toppers after an eight-goal riot... Regent’s Park Under-11s squad
Three-way battle at top of the league
Regent’s Park stars hit 24 points to join title-chasing Crown & Manor and Chapel Boys
SOCCER stars from Regent’s Park Football Club were celebrating on Friday as they moved joint top of the Under-11s ‘B’ League following an impressive victory over Islington Admiral Youth at Market Road.
Goal-getters Cillian Davis and Veton Derguti scored two goals apiece, while Alexander von Daehne, Josh Keen, Randell Williams and Ricky Louch were also all on target in an 8-0 victory.
The result leaves Crown and Manor, Chapel Boys and Regent’s Park all level on 24 points, although Crown and Manor have a superior goal difference. In the same age category, striker Fin Salmons put in a super show as he scored five goals to lead Isledon Wolves to 7-0 win over AC Juniors. Evan Mills added his name to the score sheet with a fine solo effort before Nathan Eluemunor completed the scoring.
There was double delight for Wolves with their Under-10s side taking three vital points against ‘A’ Class. Tommy Smith opened the scoring when he added the finishing touches to a clinical passing move. Goalkeeper Sam Barlow pulled off two fine saves to keep Wolves ahead, before Liam Bristow settle the tie with a decisive second.
Hampstead are still four points clear at the top of the Under-10s table despite being held to a goalless draw against Westway. Hampstead defenders Tom Disley and George Lakey were outstanding, restricting Westway to just one attempt at goal.
Hampstead’s Under-13s were also held to a goalless draw as they secured a point against high-flying Chapel despite only having seven players. Islington Tufnell Youth stretched their lead at the top of the table to three points with a 1-0 win over FDS, Kaleb Sofer netting the only goal.
In the Under-14s League Hampstead netted the result of the weekend when they hit double figures against Harbour.
Top scorer CJ Burke ran riot as he added five more goals to his personal tally. Milton Karamani struck twice, while Elliott Powell, Seb Sundvik and Tayo Awoderu also found the back of the net to seal a 10-2 victory.
