Gunners hand out hammering

FA Cup: Fifth Round
Arsenal 8, West Ham 1

ARSENAL stormed into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday with a convincing victory over London rivals West Ham at Meadow Park.
England striker Lianne Sanderson got the cup holders off to a flying start with a goal after just two minutes before Gemma Davison doubled the Gunners advantage 20 minutes later.
West Ham pulled a goal back courtesy of a stunning 20-yard strike from Samantha Puttick. But goals from Kelly Smith, Mary Phillip and Rachel Yankey ended the game as a contest to send Arsenal in at the break boasting a 5-1 lead.
The onslaught continued in the second-half when the prolific Sanderson converted from the penalty spot to net her 28th goal of the season.
Karen Carney and an own goal completed the rout. Arsenal will now play Birmingham at home in the last eight on Sunday, February 10.

Horley Town 0, Spurs 5

TOTTENHAM bounced back from last week’s London Cup exit with a stunning win at Horley Town on Sunday.
Sharp-shooter Rosi Webb led the charge with a stunning hat-trick, while Jessie Richards and a late strike from Faye Callaway rounded off the win.
Spurs’ reserves went one better as they beat Hampstead 6-0 in Division Two North of the Greater London League. Natalie Arbuckle was the star of the show with four goals, while strike partner Fiona Butterfield hit two.

Newham 0, Katabella 2
Camden Town 1, Leyton 2

LATE goals from Amy France and Rachel Ojelade saw Katabella return to action with a hard fought victory away against Newham on Sunday.
Rivals Camden Town were unlucky not to take a share of the spoils in their game against league leaders Leyton. Mary Guest fired Town into a half-time lead after latching on to a through ball from Sarah Boyall. But Leyton hit back in the second-half to take all three points.
In their previous outing Camden Town sealed a 1-1 draw against Hampstead when supersub Carmel Clinton came off the bench to score a stunning volley.
