Butler’s at the double
Spartan South Midlands League – Division One
Kentish Town 3
Bedford Town Reserves 2
KENTISH Town remain three points clear at the top after twice coming from behind to beat a stubborn Bedford Town side on Saturday at the Barnet Copthall stadium.
The home side went a goal down after five minutes as they struggled to cope with a pitch badly affected by the weather.
But Town continued to apply the pressure and made the all-important breakthrough when Paul Butler riffled home a free-kick from distance.
Bedford upset the odds for the second time in the match on the hour mark when they scored against the run of play to retake the lead.
But Kentish Town hit back within minutes when David Dawson headed home from close range after latching on to Thomas Looney’s dangerous in-swinging corner.
Town netted the winner when Butler fired home another free-kick.
