Blitz thrown in at deep end against Olympians
NATIONAL champions of British American football, the London Blitz, will open their season with a cross-town derby against the London Olympians at Crystal Palace on April 27.
It promises to be a tough test for the Finsbury Park-based club, who face an Olympians side looking to gain revenge for a hat-trick of defeats last season.
Blitz head coach Mark Moss said: “This is a really tough start for us, but at our level there really are no easy games. We’re strengthening our squad as the weeks go by, but there’s always room for more players, backroom staff and coaches.
“This season will be our toughest yet, but we intend to meet and better every challenge we face.”
The Blitz will face East Kent Mavericks next month in a controlled scrimmage, a friendly game with strict rules but no referees in attendance, where each team take it in turn to have the ball. Anyone interested in helping or playing for the team should visit www.londonblitz.com
