HELP US FIND JUSTICE FOR TRAGIC TOM
Family of stab victim call on killer’s friends to aid inquiry
THE heartbroken family of a builder stabbed to death in Camden Town have called on the friends and relatives protecting his killers to help them find justice.
They are determined to break the silence blocking a police investigation and open the secrets of how Tom Breen was killed.
The father-of-two died more than five years ago in an unprovoked attack in Camden High Street but the case remains unsolved.
The New Journal travelled to Northern Ireland to meet Mr Breen’s relatives in their family home and learned how his death has devastated their lives, pushing his son to the brink of a sleeping pill overdose.
In a rare interview, his wife Lorraine said her family was ready to increase the reward money themselves if it meant vital information could be unlocked, offering those who know the identity of the killer the chance to meet them privately if they are too scared to talk to police.
She said: “I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if it was me in that position – to know that I was possibly living with a murderer.” A £20,000 reward offered by police remains unclaimed.
