Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 13 March 2008

Call centre is no answer

• I WAS delighted to read Andrew Lisicki’s concern about Careline in the CNJ (March 6).
Councillor Martin Davies boasted that by sacking four Careline staff for illegally selling subscribers’ names and addresses to Invicta
Tele-care call centre in Borough Green, Kent, he would be saving Camden Council £100,000 a year. He hasn’t – it’s £20,000 a year.
He also stated that there would be no change in the services. Not true. In his letter to the CNJ on February 14 he also says that in future the call centre would decide whether or not to pass on the call to Careline – how very comforting!
Some time ago we were promised new pendants which in the event of an emergency would work automatically.
Cllr Davies, you are disgracing your party.
