Eight-goal thriller at the Lane
Premier League
Tottenham 4
Chelsea 4
EVEN Arsenal fans would have been cheering last night (Wednesday) when Spurs battled back to dent Chelsea’s title hopes in an eight-goal thriller at White Hart Lane. Tottenham found themselves 3-1 down early in the second-half when goals from Didier Drogba, Michael Essien and Joe Cole eclipsed Jonathan Woodgate’s header to give the Blues a commanding lead.
But Tottenham showed tremendous spirit as they dragged themselves back into the game thanks to goals from Dimitar Berbatov and Tom Huddlestone.
Cole looked to have sealed a dramatic late victory for Chelsea when he netted his second. But a stunning first time strike from Robbie Keane – the pick of the goals on the night – evened things up in the final minute of the match.
