Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 27 March 2008

A question of waste

• EUREKA– Ken Livingstone coming to the rescue of the blighted tenants of Camden.
But wait, is this bonanza of money going to be put into the hands of officers who have been turfing out tenants on the pretext of doing necessary repairs only to sell off said property by auction? Their excuse being that suddenly they have no money to do such repairs! Are these same office administrators to be trusted with the billions that they can now apply for to generous Ken?
What are the elected representatives going to do about these officers? Indeed what is Frank Dobson, MP going to do about the disgraceful way his constituents have been treated by such officers, who are in control of the housing department monies?
Are they all prepared to continue to turn a blind eye to the maladministration that has seen the tragic loss of good homes, that could easily have been repaired with the tenants in situ? If such money does become available, what’s to say that this money is not again dribbled away?
At 75 years of age I still live in the hope that Camden has politicians with enough backbone to look into this ghastly crisis.
